With the change in weather and the Santa Claus Parade around the corner (November 16th!) it’s the time of year we start thinking decorations! As much as some of us what to run out and start picking up all sorts of do-dads, bobbles, trees, and lights it’s important to keep in mind the regulations in your building or your townhouse complex.

Depending on your building there maybe limitations on having a real tree in your home. If this is the case: consider a fake tree with a plug in room scent of pinewood or holiday smells. Another fun alternative is a small real planted tree. There are so many different options for making your home smell like walking through a forest or stepping into a bakery.

A great tip for decorating mantels is to use a larger piece of particle board cut slightly larger than the area you are covering. That way you protect the mantel and are able to staple branches or stockings to the board.
