Needs Vs. Wants – Why It’s So Important To Make “The List”

Home Buying Checklist
With so many options out there in the market, it’s so important to know what you really want. It’s your money, it’s going to be your home, and you should be able to get what you really want (within reason).

Think back to those times when you hated something in your place and said: “when I get a new place I’m going to make sure ___________”

I remember hating my unfinished laundry room in my townhome. It was in the basement which meant I had to lug the laundry up and down the stairs (4 flights). Another thing I didn’t like was having my kitchen/dining area on a separate floor from my family room, especially since I love to entertain. I would hate being separated from my guests while I’d be in the kitchen prepping and cooking, hearing them laugh. Also I have 2 dogs so a bit of outdoor space was a must, and lastly I needed a garage attached to my home, so I wouldn’t have to go out in the winter and clean the snow and ice off of my car; yes, call me spoiled.

Well, it took me about 6 years to find it….Really! But I found it, and I love it. I actually stop myself from complaining now, because I think back to when I complained so much, and I remind myself to appreciate what I have.

So my word of advice is to sit down and make that list, and pass it on to the experts – “us”.

We can and know where they exist and will make sure that you find your perfect home.
