Changes In Regent Park – Q & A With Lamis

Lamis has been working in the #RegentPark area for over 10 years! 😲 On this #ThrowbackThursday we sit down with her to discuss the evolution of the neighbourhood and what has changed the most in the past decade!⠀

“Where to begin? Regent Park was considered the place you don’t ever go to, in fact, have you ever gone there? My point exactly. First, Toronto Community Housing came up with an idea to bring in a builder to create a master plan that would blend the area with new owners and existing #TorontoCommunityHousing residents to introduce a fresh community with a mix of old and new — We have a full model of this master plan at our Presentation Centre. No one wanted to move to Regent Park. Trust me, I was the only realtor!⠀

But get this, the city planners, developers, and builders had big plans and they asked us to be a part of it!⠀

This idea was presented and while not many could see the goal vision, I could see its potential! The city, the amazing builders/developers, and @thedanielscorp hired us to sell their idea of “Urban Living”. They came up with an incredible concept that would revitalize the area — No one believed it was possible but us. In fact, my team bought, invested, and sold the hell out of the area. Buyers doubted us, well not us, but the actual plan of the future Regent Park. They simply wanted to own a place in the city of Toronto.⠀

Somehow, Daniels made it happen, they made the dream come true — they made Regent Park!!! They offered gradual deposits of up to 5%, with a deposit plan of $1000/ month and that was the reason everyone bought here. It’s been 9 years and we are in phase 3 — phase 4/5 are still to come. Most importantly we went from $395/sqft to almost $985/sqft, and trust me I convinced every buyer that this would be a great investment.⠀

They laughed at us back then being in Regent Park and the whole stigma associated with it. Convincing buyers that this would be a great investment all those years ago, they have now let us sell their homes and are enjoying an amazing return on their property! Regent Park today has the best value per sq ft and is still growing for the next 8 years. LIFE’S BETTER IN THE PARK! “
